Mauritania has been elected as a member of the African Anti-Corruption Advisory Council on behalf of the northern region. The elections took place on Friday July 14, 2023 in the Kenyan capital Nairobi and resulted in a large majority of more than two-thirds of the votes, for a two-year term.

The voting session took place in the presence of the Ambassador of Mauritania to Ethiopia and her permanent representative to the African Union, Ms. Khadija M’Bareck Fall and her accompanying delegation.

For this position, Mauritania has presented the candidacy of Mr. Cheikh Ould Baba Ahmed.

This election comes on top of other successes achieved by Mauritanian diplomacy in recent years, thus making it possible to strengthen the presence of national skills in regional and international organizations, thus concretizing the vision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in this area.
