More than a year ago, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania opened an Embassy in the sister Republic of Indonesia to strengthen fraternal ties between two countries, which belong to the most important regional and international groupings, with enormous geostrategic potential and natural resources; and to achieve the official and popular aspirations of the two states.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania, located in the northwest of the African continent, with an area of about 1,030,700km², bordered from West by the Atlantic Ocean on a length of 720 km and by the Senegal river over 700 km from the South.

Mauritania has a unique geo-strategic location, it is a meeting point and a bridge between North and Sub-Saharan Africa, ship station on the Middle East-West African sea lines, and a natural gateway for Africa to Europe, which is only one flight hour, as well as off the coast of the American continent on the other bank of the Atlantic Ocean, which is a 5-hour flight distance.
The Embassy in order to bring the country closer to this strategic geographical space in South-East Asia, starting with Indonesia, the country of residence and other accreditation countries: Malaysia, the Sultanate of Brunei and the Kingdom of Thailand, has the honor to launch this website hoping it will constitute a humble contribution for introducing the Islamic Republic of Mauritania through the information given to the visitors on evolutions happening in the country on political, economic, cultural and social levels and transmit all important data for those interested to Mauritania affairs.
The site contains an introductory paper to Mauritania and an economic corner on investment opportunities and covers the diplomatic activities of His Excellency the President of the Republic, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians abroad and Embassy activities, and allocated a corner under the title window on Mauritania in which we receive the contributions of researchers in the fields of the common history and heritage of the country, as well as a page for students wishing to continue studying in the accreditation countries, as well as information on consular affairs and other topics.
