The Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) published a statement on 13 June in Dakar praising the measures taken by Mauritania in terms of compliance with transparency standards in the extractive industries field.
The statement reads as follows:
“Mauritania has consistently implemented innovative approaches to achieve EITI objectives. It has adopted an adequate legal and technical framework to disclose available information on time to enable data analysis.
It has also been a pioneer in forecasting revenues from the gas and green hydrogen sectors to better understand their economic benefits.
Mauritania has constantly demonstrated strong leadership from stakeholders engaged in the EITI.
It is an honor to invite His Excellency, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Bilal Messoud, to receive the Leadership Award for Compliance with Transparency Standards.
